Disregard ASUU OOU Strike Suspension News, Says SUG
*First batch Admission list not altered
The Students’ Union Government of Olabisi Onabanjo University has advised students of the institution to disregard an online report pointing to a fact that the strike action embarked upon by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, OOU branch has been suspended.
The report which is false should be ignored in its entire totality.
However, it should be noted that before any new action as to the suspension of the ongoing strike by ASUU OOU is to be taken, a congress of the union must be called to further x-ray activities of the union, where a collective decision must be taken.
The industrial action is still on but we expect a positive response from concerned parties soonest.
We urge our students who are yet to finish or start their second semester examination for 2015/2016 academic session to fast-track preparation to this effect.
In another development, the students’ union government has advised prospective candidates to disregard the information that the recently published first batch of admission list has been withdrawn. The news is false and all newly admitted students should continue to carry out other necessary steps that will sustain their admission into the University.
