On Eid El Kabir: OOUSUG Preaches Sacrifice and Love, Says OOU Not Sold To FG
The Olabisi Onabanjo University Students’ Union Government led by the President, Com. Tayo Mabunmi on behalf of all executive members of the union has joined other well-meaning Nigerians to felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sisters worldwide, OOU community most especially on the occasion of Eid El Kabir, a festival that preaches “Sacrifice”.

The union advised students of the institution to emulate the good works and deeds of Father Abraham whose unending love for God, willingness and obedience made him agreed to sacrifice his only son.

The union in a statement made available on Monday, September 12, 2016 by its Public Relation Officer, Com. Dotun Adebusoye advocates for love, peaceful co-existence and urged students of the institution to show concern and reflect more on current state of the University and Nigeria as a whole.

” We want to seize this opportunity to once again celebrate and felicitate with our Muslim brothers and sister in Olabisi Onabanjo University and Nigeria at large on this occasion of Eid El Kabir as instructed by Allah through Prophet Ibrahim. We want to also urge our students to use this period and pray for the University and its leadership.”

In another development, the union has cautioned mischief makers against peddling false information that could tarnish the image of the University and at the same time draws the attention of tertiary institution admission seekers away from making the University their favorite choice.

The information making round that the University has been sold to the Federal Government of Nigeria is baseless, unfounded and ridiculous. Such agreement between the Ogun State Government and Federal Government as indicated in the news report is not true and should never be entertained.

We urge our students to always rely on the Students’ Union Government for relevant and truism of information. The University is still under the dictates of Ogun State Government and it remain as such.

Once again, we wish you all happy Salah celebrations. Long live OOU.

Signed:

Com. Dotun Adebusoye
OOUSUG Public Relation Officer
